Why should I join the gsas?

Ron lists many of the reasons I stick with GSAS. I've been a member for...hmmmmm...over 10 years, I guess (don't remember year I joined). I'm NOT a joiner! But I know that I can get answers for just about any question I have, find cool things like freebie microworm culture starts if I ask...

just scored a 75g upgrade tank for my 2 calico ryukins

edited post: The club needed immediate payment so I will just have to wait until I have cash-in-hand or room on the cc....so this may not happen. We'll see. I most likely WON'T get the LED if ANY tanks are still available. The perils of being a fed during budget crisis time....unwilling to take...

just scored a 75g upgrade tank for my 2 calico ryukins

Not sure if it'll go back into storage or what. The Danio choprae sure like that footprint. I'll have to see what vibe I get once I get the 75g tank planted up....don't know whether it will 'say' Danio choprae or not. I do like keeping the two (goldfish and danios) together just for the energy...

*****GSAS 75 Gallon Raffle Tank *****

HA.....I don't have very good luck, so I went and asked for one of the non-raffle setups. I think my calico ryukins will be thrilled. Just have to do some tank juggling after we figure out transport logistics. This is the biggest tank I've EVER attempted. I think there are 2 left....I asked for...

just scored a 75g upgrade tank for my 2 calico ryukins

The GSAS has offered gently used 75g tank set-ups from Pet Expo in Spokane for the last couple years. This year I decided that I was up to trying something this big. 75g is HUGE for me.....most of my tanks are between 2.5 and 10g. Anyway, my 33L is getting a bit tight for my 2 calico beauties so...

    The Great 12 Gallon Long

Great inspiration! I have a Mr. Aqua 12g long still in the box out in the garage. I want to put my Danio erythromicron in there eventually, but have to figure out where to put it. I've been waging the slow war against Riccia for about a year. It's NOT a good plant for me as it gets into...

just stumbled onto this forum...another GSAS person

For those with an interest, the public video bit showing my place in the 2013 GSAS Home Show was just put up. I can't post a link yet but go to the GSAS website, look at the top bar and click on Resources, then free on-line videos....there are 2 albums there. One is for a really great 6-part...

    a Boraras briggitae story

These will probably go into a Fluval Flora I need to set up. I think that's around 9g. I have an additional fishless 5g quarantine tank which can function as a quarantine tank for the newbies until I decide. I've got a bunch of black sand to layer over laterite/floruite to show off these...

    The elusive male peacock gudgeon!!

I WISH I had some female Dario dario. That is my nemesis fish! Right now I have just 1 male left from a group buy November 2011 (I think). I've had GSAS member search out females for me before, but it was a difficult time of year and I never got fry when I tried to pair them. It's easier for me...

    The elusive male peacock gudgeon!!

YAY! I feel the same way about female Dario dario (and I know I'm not alone)! I kept these gudgeons for about 3 years and the male RARELY came out of the cave. The female was out and about all the time. I never got any surviving fry. Oh well. Hope you have much better luck....looks like you are...

    a Boraras briggitae story

Awhile back (maybe around a year ago), I went in on an order with a fellow GSAS member to mailorder some special fish from back East (I think it was in NJ). I got a batch of Boraras briggitae and a batch of Danio erythromicron. Both went into separate quarantine tanks. The Boraras ended up in a...

just stumbled onto this forum...another GSAS person

Oh I wish I had a pile of 40g breeders laying around and the space to set them up. Maybe someday. I actually would like to play with some of the calmer/mellower cichlids again, but right now space is an issue and I prefer the gouramis, livebearers, danios, rasboras and, goldfish/koi for now. So...

just stumbled onto this forum...another GSAS person

Just wanted to note that not all guppy strains in the photos are annotated yet. There are Japanese blues, lemon snakeskin, purple moscow, a see-through strain from ATFG via GSAS members, and bluegrass guppies in the 'show' as well as a wild-type male honey gourami (Colisa chuna unless they've...

just stumbled onto this forum...another GSAS person

Well....I'm really NOT much of a photographer, but I was one of the homes in the 2013 GSAS Home Show and some of my fish/tanks are shown on the GSAS website right now. Those photos are available to non-members. Because I'm new here, I can't post an external link for 7 days but if you go to the...
