I mentioned a buddy of mine was a home care worker who had a client wiht two rosy barbs just sitting in an abandoned tank. They were trying to find a way to get them down to me but decided to keep them. They have a 10 gal but nothing else besides a can of flakes. No heater, filter, airpump, plants, lights etc.
I have a little HOB and such I could give but no time to make the drive. If anybody up there could even give them a tablespoon of Prime and loan a sponge filter for a few weeks it would go a long way. I'd hate for the stress of a new tank cycling to kill the little guys after everything they've been through
