United Pet Group issues Marineland timer warning

Saw this warning online and wasn't sure if others had seen it.  Apparently UPG has issued a warning on the Marineland  Aquarium Light Timer, model number DBJ24 and catalog number PA0401.  I don't have these but if you do you might want to read this.

So the issue is that UL did not authorize the product... it bears some 'unauthorized UL marks'. Ive seen a ton of items that Ive questioned like cheap extension cords with UL labels that I thought they were fakes.

Hi Tom...great to see you. I think I would want to know what the parent organization has to say as they did issue a warning. I would call the 800 number and see what they say...they might replace them at no cost or might just say don't worry.

I will look into it. They are all on very low wattage lights and never get warm so I am minimally concerned but I will check up on it.

They are pretty awesome when it comes to customer service. I had a recent incident with a 36w UV sterilizer and they asked me to take a few pictures of the issue send them in and they replaced the entire thing with a new unit.
