Spawning

I just watched my Melanochromis auratus pair spawn. This seems to happen when I am overdue for a water change, and maybe a dead fish or 2 in the tank.

Very cool. Did they do the spin dance before they spawned or paired off?

missed the spin dance, they have previously spawned in this tank. I just caught them laying, fertilizing, and mouthing up the eggs.

I always see the dance and never any other part. lol.

isnt the spin dance the laying and the fertilizing and mouthing??? lol so I think you have seen the spin dance if youve seen thoughs.

I've seen them do it, if they been separated, pair off or spawn. They are the only ones I've ever seen do it. They spin so fast , head to tail, I don't know how they keep from crashing into each other. VERY 8)

the younger, smaller was doing the spin dance( not the spawn just the spin) with the female tonight until the big dom. male caught him,,,lol.

Sand, these guys seem to spin like crazy,,, round and round , before actually spawning.

WOAH! cool, I just youtubed it.... thats pretty sweet.... the spin dance is funner to watch than the actually Oral spawning thingy... lol

I keep forgetting that the PUTER can show us almost anything. VERY COOL HUH? 8)
