I'm making a short series of "webisodes" about my fire eel.
Kudos to anyone who used to watch AS back when they had good shows still. This is somewhat of a homage to AS as you'll soon find out.

Wow nice! I think mine is only about 7" . . . . quite the youngin' mine is.

Does anyone know why spiny eels tend to make home in HOB filters? My fire eel has been doing this on and off from time to time, and it boggles me as to why he chooses to stay in the HOB filter, when there are ample hiding places for him in the tank. I also use sand in the tank, because I know they like to burrow. Water quality is great, so that shouldn't be an issue. Anyone have this happen to them before? I know I should probably block the filter so that it can't "climb" its way back in there, but that's besides the point. I'm just curious as to why this is such a common thing with spiny eels...
