Hello salt community,

I have a cousin that I am walking through the cycle process on a Nuvo mini 38. It needs a light. We are getting everything ready to set up for full soft coral reef.

My lighting experience is limited in the saltwater reef arena and hoping for some suggestions. Quality , reliability, functionality is what we are looking fer. And powerful enough to grow any coral we want. LED preferred but open to suggestions.

Thanks!

I have been doing a ton of research on salt lately. I came across this brand/style of light
http://www.ebay.com/itm/EVO-48-LED-Aqua ... 461810145c

Obviously you dont want 48 inch but you can find whatever length you need. 3w 10,000k leds. I have watched a lot of
reviews on youtube and all seem pretty good. Price seems decent when compared to Finnex FugeRay Marine+ 48inch
which has 3 times the leds but only 1/3 the wattage.

Course i am just a noob especially when it comes to salt, so i am probably missing something.

^ That's why I posted. Thanks for the input though. I'm reading up on them now. I know there isn't much saltwater chatter on this forum but thought I would try.

Thanks for jumping in clownie! I'll definately check them out. We might have to go with a hanging pendent. But also looking around for a 2 foot fixture, or a fixture with legs to sit ontop of the tank.

Have you looked at the buildmyled website? They're not the cheapest option, but even if you don't end up buying one of their lights, they have a lot of good information in the 'science' section and really good (complete) specs on the output of their lights to make sure you are getting what you want if you do buy from them.
