My red isletas spawn was a success

I am torn about this process. I really think it's cool when fish spawn, but I dislike the fact that their tank mates get beat down. Plus these are f2. So what would I do wih the fry anyways?  Trying to decided if I should remove her so that I can get back to a more peaceful male only tank or what?

With my rio mag umbee and wc yellow cons spawning all of the time, I really don't want to turn into a fish factory

By the way, while I'm making these decisions I will also be deciding on which fish I want to get rid of so that my new amphs (hopefully male) will have room.
As of ten minutes ago I think I may be parting with my 9" g blue umbee, my piebald fen.,  and my 6" kraussi.  But that can change as well...

Input always welcome, though I reserve the right to not agree  :lol!:

Congrats on the Isletas spawn, and I completely understand what your saying. I may take that Kraussi from you, but I reserve the right to change my mind. ;)

Got paid today so could order fish mid week if everyone is ready.

That female Isletas was a beauty. Did the male outshine her finally?

Haha. Perfect! It's hard because once a pair forms you don't equally want to break them up, but hen again, it would be nice to lose the aggression

Dmd no she is still the superstar but the male now has an arctic white body with those crazy black lines and a red head ( though he still has no hump)

I love the humps that Shawn's Isletas develop. He really has some good genetics in his for sure. You had mentioned the male starting to get some girth on him and a bit of head growth, will it be enough to keep him or will you want a beast of a male? Though you may get your beast with the the upcoming trimac....
