how often do you test and for what

Just curious;

Don't be like me, but I test once every 3-6 months, my last test parameters (Wed) were close to right where I want them

CA 470 tad high
Alc 7-8 tad low
Mag 1325 where I want it
SG 1.026

I dosed alk and now CA is good and Alk

I would recommend to those just starting or trying different corals to test weekly

Also, you will want to test for;

PH
nitrates
Nitrites
Ammonia

These I don't but again don't copy me, These are very important especially during the first year or so.

I test about twice a week
Calcium 380
alkalinity 9

I test about twice a month
magnesium 1350

And like you I should test more often, but I dont anymore. Maybe once a month or two. When the tanks were new setups I tested every two days for. Last test
Ammonia 0
Nitrates 0
Nitrites 0
PH 8.2

You should also test for phosphates. Especially new set ups. I think the last time tested was a year or so ago.
