Hello everyone, thought I might say hi as I will be poking around here to see what's what. My name is Paul. I live in Mill Creek and have always been a reptile guy. So why am I here? I decided to surprise my girlfriend with a tropical planted tank for our year anniversary. Knowing nothing of fish, that meant research, a lot of it. Through this, while she got her tropical tank, I fell in love with the African Cichlids. I now have a 90 gal all male Hap and peacock tank. Most from Malawi but I had to have a Frontosa/Gibberosa as well, so a slight mix. While I have only had my tank up and running for 4-5 months I have a 9 inch Johnstoni Solo, and 8 inch venustus and a 7+ inch compressiceps among many others a bit smaller. What an addicting and at times challenging endeavor. Nice to meet you all.

Thought I might add a few pics. Sorry, pic heavy.

Thank you both, Shorty and Colin. Same goes Colin, if you ever need a hand just yell. Is that a South American I see beyond the Pleco? What do you keep?

Yep, I like it. Seems to be less waste as well. I hold it partially responsible for a cleaner tank.

I have not kept any in some years. For quite a few years I was entertained by a large [near 6'] cape monitor, a couple sahvanna monitors, 2 5+ft iguana, ball python and a couple redtail boas. There was a point I had most if not all at one time although some were smaller then. =}

I miss my Savannah Monitor. Such great personalities. I dont have any now, but if i came across some green tree monitors i would scoop them up in a heartbeat.

Never had any Green tree monitors but they were on the list of wants for sure. The ionidesi basically cape monitor was fun but a handful. I built him a 10'x8' enclosure. Miss that guy.
Miss the savannas as well, they would sit and watch tv with me. Well I watched anyway. :D
