I'm 55 years old and I have been a ginormous fan of The Allman Bros since Jesus was a boy. When Duane died, I was devastated. Now that Gregg is gone? Oh my bleeding heart. Ugh. There's a giant weight sitting on my chest right now. It hurts to breathe.

RIP Gregg. You rocked me. You rolled me. You validated my crazy lifestyle. I love you.

I know. I sound like big old grey sap, but I really really have been affected by his leaving earth. Maybe it was the bazillions of years in that black leather clad biker gang lifestyle -- he was like the Jesus of Music, right? - a sweet soul you could count on, even when things were ugly. I almost named my daughter Melissa. Rhiannon was cooler so that's what she got. LOL
