Derimming 20 tall???

Thinking about taking the top rim of my 20 gallon tall off, any one have experience with the out come?

I don't plan on taking the bottom off. From what I've read and saw a letter from a manufacturer (can't remember which) that unless there is a center brace the rim does not effect the integrity of the tank but does void the warranty. My tank was made in 2013 so it's not that old.

Wow That seems like a lot of work. Will it come off cleanly? I imagined there's be gobs of glue in there and sanding that all off would really jack up the tank? Or maybe I'm insane.

Could go either way, actually.
