start with a 35 gallon hexagon fish tank
remove 2 side panels, cut the 2 panels to 6" high, and put them back

put the top frame back on the tank

add 2 2" high pieces of glass into the top frame and cut acrylic top

silicone all joints to make bottom water tight
acrylic top stays loose until terrarium is planted and all pumps, heaters and lighting has been laid out

thats it so far,
next comes locating hinges and making 2 glass access doors in front, with some sort of latch

cutting glass

I bought a cheap little glass cutter at lowes for $3.95, after cut I took my 4 1/2" grinder, with a flapper disc and smoothed the cut edge,,, then hand sanded to 220 grit---pain in the butt, but I am a metal fabricator and have never messed with glass cutting.

I'm impressed! That's gonna look awesome when it's fully planted!

What're you going for for your first frogs? My vote is for tincs :p

Isn't dart frogs...poisonous?
Not in captivity, they derive their poison from ants they feed on in the wild... and a smart person does not feed their pet frog these ants

Can't wait to see this! Probably gonna push me into doing my 20 gallon viv lol
