Hi All,

We had a huge turnout at your local aquarium club meeting last night; over 130 fish and plant geeks showed up for one of the most memorable meetings in the history of our club. I want to thank all of our members and guests that showed up last night and I hope you enjoyed yourselves enough to come back again. If you attended and enjoyed the meeting sound off! If GSAS were to invite another world renowned speaker; who would you like to see?

I enjoyed it. I'm glad there was a good turnout for her. I wish there had been more time for her to take questions because she seemed to want to answer and help everyone.

I would really like to see Klaus Steinhaus speak in the future! He has spoken on the topic of cichlids in the past and now he talks about the C.A.R.E.S Preservation Program. I've been meaning to ask on the GSAS list if they take requests for speakers because I had mentioned to him that our club had started showing some interest in the program and he said he'd love to tell us about it.

Hi Betty,

It was great seeing you at our meeting and finally being able to put a face with the name! I agree, that presentation could have been twice as long and it still wouldn't have been long enough!!

Absolutely GSAS takes suggestions for guest speakers. GSAS is in the process of adding C.A.R.E.S. to our BAP program and hopefully the entire assimilation will be completed by the end of the year. Previous speakers such as Chuck Rambo have briefly discussed C.A.R.E.S. as part of their presentations but a full presentation on the program after we have implemented makes sense. Please either post the suggestion to our list or contact Kathy with your suggestion. I think we have "booked" all of our speakers through next June but there may still be an opening......
