Looking good bassetman! I have really been interested in its progress. I have a Rapp's Bumblebee Im growing out but it was a close call and I almost bought the crassipinnis

I have been watching on OFL.

I will try to post updates every couple weeks.

There was some talk about the crassipinnis and orbicularis being the same fish on one forum. Some say the orbicularis is an outdated name. Who knows? I do see the pattern has a very similar vertical stripe as the Bumblebee but the fins are a bit smaller. Mine has quite long fins. I really am curious if this fish really only hits about 10", rumor has it Rapp's had a 16" Bumblebee. Been a ton of debates lately as to whether Oscars can get that big on MFK....

Thanks again for post the pics! Look forward to the updates on him. :spoton:

Main difference I have noticed is most Orbicularis have orange borders on the stripes and the Crassipinnis does not. That and the cras has the huge bug eyes. Hard to say if these are regional differences or species traits. Not enough study has been done. Do you know where the Orbicularis was originally collected?
