African with large "tumor" thing on his nose

One of our Zebras has this 1/4" dia. nodule on his nose. It probably stands a goof 1/4" proud of the surrounding flesh. It's kinda whitish with reddish appearance to it. It's been slowly growing for the last 2 months at least. No clamped fins, or anything else that would seem out of normal. Any ideas as to what it is and a course of treatment? None of his tankmates show any distress at all. Water is normal in all respects.

I had a big ol' Oscar many years ago that got a growth on his lower lip. When it got so big he couldn't eat properly, I had to do the kind thing and help him meet his maker. I never found out what it was, not wanting to spend money on a necropsy for a fish.
