This is something that I have always wanted to experience.  I am really thinking of going in 2014.  Here is some info:

The 2014 American Cichlid Association will be held Thurs, July 10th through Sun, July 13th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel next to the Louisville airport. Make your reservations after Tues, July 30th 2013 by calling 888-233-9527 and asking for the American Cichlid Association room block. http://www.cplouisville.com/

Every July the ACA hosts a most fabulous convention not to be missed! It is here that you will witness the most spectacular collection of the finest cichlids to be found. The yearly convention is an action-packed, non-stop weekend filled with world-renown speakers, workshops, vendors, raffles, specialized Study Group meetings and incredible side trips, all culminating in Sunday’s magnificent cichlid auction! Most importantly, you will always find the warmth and fellowship of being amongst fish, friends, and fun! The Louisville Tropical Fish Fanciers has been working diligently to host the most exceptional convention ever for the year 2014! If you have yet to do so, Convention Chair Rusty Wessel and his dedicated committee are more than happy to help you to plan for this extraordinary event at the luxurious Crowne Plaza Hotel next the the airport in Louisville, Kentucky on July 10-13, 2014. Please be sure to register today at: http://2014.ACA-Convention.com/. I know I can’t wait to see you in Kentucky in July!

Not sure if they will head further west again ... the San Jose ( I think it was) was their lowest attended one they've had.

It's an event though. Wouldn't hurt to get the attention there. It also probably has african cichlids too right? :) It sounds like a good idea to move it there!

It does have Africans!! Ad Konings will be speaking there along with others on the subject of Africans. http://2014.aca-convention.com/speakers

I was in Colorado during the past one in Denver and almost went for a day, but didn't have anyone to babysit my dogs.  :roll

Anyone planning on going to this? I've never been to the ACA yet.
I would like to go as I have never been to an ACA convention. I'm sure it will be a good experience as you'll get to hear some of the most knowledgeable people in the Cichlid hobby speaking.
