    Don't have old filter anymore, so not an option. I have even used the old dirty water to rinse the new filter media in, and had the old filter with the new just to help maintain bacteria, but maybe for not long enough, this may be the problem after reading up on the subject.

    1/2" long and three others are almost an inch long 14 yellow labs. Four rusty one 1 1/2 pleco. Too many for the ten gallon???? Three are big enough to put into the 75 Gallon I think

    Tank has an aqueon20 hob filter and the fry are close to 1/2" long and the plecos was just bought he is a small one sold from petsmart. I just today took out the old used filter I had behind the newer filter I puts in about a week and a half ago. Tank is cycled so that's couldn't be the problem...

    Ok for like a week now my nitrites and nitrates are way too high. It is a ten gallon with 15 fry in it. I have a med pleco and feed them twice a day. I am doing water changes each day to help lower them. I also have used prime here and there to neutralize the nitrites. Why is this happening...

    I will be keeping these In a separate tank until I can figure the male to female ratio. Then I will be selling off the remainder of them so someone else can have them to do what they will. I do appreciate the info though. I will take it to heart

    Back home and ended up with four more rustys. Only paid $3.99 each they are about 3/4" Long. Now when they mature I should get at least one mated pair out of the 9 I now have.

    ,my opinion as well. I use a 50`suction hose hooked to my faucet got it at petsmart for under $60. Sure beats the bucket brigade!!
