yeah, my local petshop does something like that, they have hoses on self-winding reels (for easy return), but still use regular siphons, i will be trying this out, the cutting to length part sounds like a good tip too. thank you spyral.

mostly mysis shrimp, generic protein pellets and half an algae disc, that i soak in a petri dish with tank water. after a it all breaks up i use a turkey baster to target feed. glad i dont have too many gallons to deal with (if thats possible), yet...

i put some black aragonite in my first tank, it doesnt seem to be "live" as they advertised (but i expected that), but it doesnt seem to be holding life either imo. it looks like shell bits, not so much as crushed coral like regular aragonite it also contained more bark mulch/floaties in it. but...
