    DIY Wood

Super good hardwood- probably won't ever rot. Only trouble I could think of is that the bark is a laxative... might want to remove it so chemicals aren't leaching into your water.

    peacock gudgeons

Re: peacock gudgeons The Fish Store on Roosevelt occasionally has them. Also, last I checked, there is a fish store on Jackson and 12th in Seattle that sold them cheap

    Really sleepy betta

I wouldn't worry about it. He might literally just be bored. You could try showing him a mirror to get him to display, or change around/ add something to his tank. Let me know if that helps!

    Baby Bettas

I bred bettas for fun a few years ago Raising it young with community probably won't make them any less aggressive, it's in their nature. At a couple of months the males will start fighting each other, and eventually the females.

Is there an alge-eater that can...

Just curious, why have it sealed off? 2 out of 3 of my tanks have partial- mostly open tops and I've never had an issue. Thanks!

Is there an alge-eater that can...

Definitely don't do an oto in that small of a tank by itself - it won't fair well. I agree with Kaosu- nerites are a good choice. Also, depending on how much growth you have, an amano shrimp might do ok if it's large enough and if your male isn't too aggressive... but there's some risk involved.

2.5 Gallon Lighting/ dwarf hairgrass Question

Ok, so a lamp or the second option I posted. Is either better? Would an acrylic lid work with the lamp mounted above it? I should be okay on fert - have some due to my larger planted tanks. Will have to figure out something for CO2, currently has an air pump which is better than nothing

2.5 Gallon Lighting/ dwarf hairgrass Question

I just inherited a small 2.5 gallon standard rectangular tank. I've been interested in planting it with dwarf hairgrass and keeping RCS or a betta but I've had trouble finding a light setup for such a small tank. These are two I've found...

    Breeding Bettas

I went through all of this last summer. Quite the adventure... Only thing I would add. If available, pond water is great for feeding, just make sure to take out any larger organisms that might pose a threat. My pond was primarily live daphnia, and the fish loved it- and since they live just...

    Hey everyone

UW all the way. Majoring in fisheries haha. If anyone has good ideas on Cichlids let me know, it's probably a ways out, but it's fun to research them all.

    Hey everyone

I'll get some pictures up pretty soon, just need to spruce them up first haha. Sidekicking- Well I'd like to get a smaller Cichlid tank with just a few. My female bettas are also pretty old in the 5 gallon, so after they pass on I think I might try a brackish tank with like 3-4 bumblebee...
