It would definitely be nice to have some little blue shrimp roaming around my tank for the color variety. Too bad I can't tell my neocaridina to not interbreed based on color! ;)

I have Eco Complete over mineralized top soil (multiple cycles of wet/dry) on both of my tanks. My 10 gallon at work only has simple plants (crypts, moss, anubias) but it's the nicest tank in terms of growth that I've ever had. That said, it doesn't even start to compare to the real planted...

How long does Gigi's Wonderfood last (refrigerated I assume)?

I have mineralized top soil mixed in with red pottery clay as a substrate that's topped with Eco Complete. I also dose with Flourish Excel and Flourish Comprehensive.

Congrats. When I first got fire red cherry shrimp, there was a pregnant female but it did seem like forever before there were little shrimplets. Pretty soon your tank will be overrun by them.

For my tank with apistos, I do Ken's flakes, Hikari freeze dried blood worms and Repashy community plus.
