I think there could be a few issues. One, they might not be getting enough food. The tetras probably eat everything before it sinks down far enough for the shrimp. Plus, the shrimp and the MTS compete for food. Shrimp really excel with a varied diet. They love to forage, so occasionally...

Re: Snails? Parasite? I have no idea! Anyone else?? I don't think they are any better or worse than other types of snails. The can be hard to get rid of though since their flat shape makes them hard to pick off the glass. Of all snails, limpets seem to always come from nowhere! I've had one...

What kind of shrimp do you have that can do so many amazing things! All my shrimp do is keep my marimos fluffy and try to ride around on my poso snails. Actually, that sounds like a pretty good drawing! :)

I think that fish can definitely choke on food. They can also choke on other random stuff too. I had a very gravid female guppy once who tried to eat everything. I noticed that she was struggling at the bottom of the tank ... she had a piece of my hair caught in her mouth! It was tangled...

Re: Axolotls! (PokeSepiroth's Little Aquatic Alien) Using tile is a great idea! I ended up using Akadama soil. They are like little soft pebbles. If my axolotl gets one in her mouth, it just turns to dust. Part of my tank is also covered in cholla wood, which is easy for her to walk around...
