    Shrimp plants?

I have hard water and low light, so I have a lot of success with java ferns. I also have a collection of crypts and marimo moss balls too. In shrimpone tank I have some horn wort I bought at Aquarium Co-Op...it's a floating plant with fine leaves that is really easy to keep. Shrimp like being...

Evil monsters (Damselfly larva) in fish tank

I've had damsel fly larvae in my tanks before. The past few places I've lived have been near creeks or small ponds, so it's difficult to keep the adults from getting in the house. I have witnessed them catch and kill an adult cherry shrimp. I have also seen my axolotl catch and eat an adult...

It was great to see everyone. I really like being able to put a face with a screen name! :)

    RCS dying?

I think there could be a few issues. One, they might not be getting enough food. The tetras probably eat everything before it sinks down far enough for the shrimp. Plus, the shrimp and the MTS compete for food. Shrimp really excel with a varied diet. They love to forage, so occasionally...

Snails? Parasite? I have no idea! Anyone else??

Re: Snails? Parasite? I have no idea! Anyone else?? I don't think they are any better or worse than other types of snails. The can be hard to get rid of though since their flat shape makes them hard to pick off the glass. Of all snails, limpets seem to always come from nowhere! I've had one...

Hmm...the closest thing to fruit that I feed my shrimp is organic canned pumpkin.

Fun picture of what shrimp eat

What kind of shrimp do you have that can do so many amazing things! All my shrimp do is keep my marimos fluffy and try to ride around on my poso snails. Actually, that sounds like a pretty good drawing! :)

    Our Axolotl(s) Laid Eggs!

Re: Axolotls! (PokeSepiroth's Little Aquatic Alien) That's a great idea! Since axolotls are endangered, they could probably use some more awareness :D

Can fish choke on their food?

I think that fish can definitely choke on food. They can also choke on other random stuff too. I had a very gravid female guppy once who tried to eat everything. I noticed that she was struggling at the bottom of the tank ... she had a piece of my hair caught in her mouth! It was tangled...

    Our Axolotl(s) Laid Eggs!

Re: Axolotls! (PokeSepiroth's Little Aquatic Alien) Using tile is a great idea! I ended up using Akadama soil. They are like little soft pebbles. If my axolotl gets one in her mouth, it just turns to dust. Part of my tank is also covered in cholla wood, which is easy for her to walk around...

Fun picture of what shrimp eat

Aww thanks! I really like comics and think simple info-graphics are a great way to help people learn. Everyone benefits (the fish/shrimp guys and the aquarium keeper) benefits when they get good information. And I LOVE to draw! I'd love to do a whole series of these! If anyone has any...
