The combination might keep them from growing too large. One reason I never buy a common pleco.

I have done nothing but keep it out of direct sunlight and at a reasonable temperature.

I have a tank in my office with Saulosi for about 8 years. They keep replenishing and I even added a few new females over the years to keep the breeding good, but getting an itch to put something new in there. Let me know when you new batch is settled and I might hit you up for some.

Looks like something half way between a Tropheus and an Aulonocara. Nice pics. Is that male fully mature or still growing?

I think I have a 403 and a 404 I am not using, just lazy about getting them moved to someone else. Not sure that is worth the drive.

I rescued a jag from a buddy and raised it in my 80 gal. Did not take long to outgrow the tank and I could not go bigger so I had to trade him in. Had the most amazing design and eyes would occasional be bright red when it was feisty. Good luck with them.

Can't tell if they are endangered... all the gov sites are down. I think I started this group about 7 years ago and they keep replacing them selves, but ended up with too many males. Was happy to find some healthy new stock to add and keep them going. This was the females first attempt too.

These seem to be very easy to breed & thanks to the new girls from Conway Tropical Fish added to this group so the gene pool does not get too thin. Note the Convict in the background at the beginning. Not so tough with the daddy near by.
