    This plant though really isn't a ground cover plant at all. It grows like a bush. You can keep it compact with regular compression. Just squish it down to physically retard it's growth.

    Re: rain water for aquaroums? Unless water supply is an issue, I feel that adding a water catch system would just compound your issues and make it harder to trouble shoot solutions to whatever problems your experiencing. I think it's best to find out what's going on now, solve those issues...
