Looks great @FishBeast! Sumps can definitely be intimidating, especially doing it the first time. Looks like you did a very nice job. Good idea on the mechanical filtration addition in the sump. Quick, cheap, and easily replaceable is perfect.

I do run a dehumidifier in that room and I do have the tank about 85% covered with a 4 x 8 sheet of twinwall polycarbonate. I do need to cut some smaller strips and find a hinge system to join the pieces together to get the 100% coverage. I'm heating the turtle tank between 80-82 degrees, so...

That's awesome! Bet that was an awesome and rewarding experience. There is an awesome YouTube channel...Kamp Kenan...he's a passionate turtle/tortoise keeper...he talks all the time about the sensitivity of turtles and how they love to be touched on their shells.

No problem...I'll be happy to help where I can. They did have some quality control issues last year with some of the paint flaking off, but sounds like it's been corrected. The tanks are built in Malaysia and shipped to Florida. Hard to beat the price for such a large tank. Would've gotten...

Looking great FishBeast! You won't be disappointed in the Poret foam from Swiss Tropicals. That's what I used in one of our sumps for bypass on the filter socks. Quality stuff. Can't wait to see the finished project.

Yeah... about 1.75" to 2" is what Wes quoted me a price for the one that jumped. I'd say the one we got from The Wet Spot was about the same size. But, she's already adding some bulk and length, even after only 2 weeks.

There are a few people online selling them in the $125-$150 range. We initially paid $125 for one from Wes (fugupuff) on MFKs, but it was the last one he had at the time. It ended up jumping out of the tank a few days before we were going to get it. I believe he just got some more in...
